Senior Luther League Newsletter- January issue
Dear fellow youth, youth leaders and all members of the church,
On January 11th the Confirmation Class, Youth Leaders, and adult chaperons left for Koinonia Lutheran Camp Center. We loaded into cars and took the 45 min. drive to the camp. Once we arrived, it felt like we were at home. As we moved all of our bags into the cabin, good memories began going through our heads. Over the weekend we attended 4 sessions; each with their own important message to tell. Every night we would sit around the fire for Family Time (which is lead by our awesome junior leaders). Family time is the time when we tell each other about our day and get to know each other better. Every person who has gone to Koinonia will tell you that the Trail Building (where we stay) is not a building but our home. It is truly amazing to sit and watch how everyone gets along on these retreats. Our youth group is truly a significant group of kids. Whenever I talk to kids from other churches they always say: "You are going away on a trip with your church? Have fun...." I always reply: "Trust me I will!" When we come home on Sunday our faith has grown closer to God and our friendships have becom closer to each other. St. Johns is not just a congregation but a great big family!
